Jessica writes about things like design debates, flexi-disc vinyl records, and reader perceptions while also making digital machines and offbeat low-res videos.

Currently, she is in the depths of a book project and does her best to write loudly at The Quiet Design Scholar.

She is a Professor of Visual Communication Design at Kent State University, where she also coordinates graduate studies and teaches classes in design research and professional practices. Previously, Jessica was a designer and researcher with a Minneapolis architecture firm and a product designer in Chicago.
